A Helping Hand

During my first trip to India this year in April, I decided to take a break from the hectic trips to see family-members to visit a few special people. Bal Bhawan (Children’s Home), located in Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana, turned out to be one of my most special visits.
Sahaita is an organization run by some amazing people. By raising charitable funds in North America, Sahaita deploys these funds in northern India providing several needy people such as the homeless children and helpless widows with free medical care and with basic necessities of life. An international charity prominently active in U.S, Canada and India, Sahaita~a helping hand, started the Bal Bhawan Project in Ludhiana, Punjab. The Bal Bhawan consists of a residential complex, middle school for the deaf and primary school for impoverished children.
Dr. Harkesh Sandhu is an inspirational man and I feel blessed to have been introduced to his amazing organization in California. My mother and I visited Bal Bhawan in Punjab and the evening we spent there was truly special. Dr. Rajinder Singh who oversees the home and Ms. Kamaljeet, the caretaker, introduced us to their children.
I hope to stay involved with this organization and to help in any way that I can. Here are a few glimpses from my visit. Be sure to check out the slide-show at the end.
